Masuma expands its product range with a key component of the disc braking system — complete brake caliper assemblies.

Caliper issues such as seized pistons, damaged dust boots and seals, or localized corrosion can sometimes be resolved with repair kits. However, when repair is not possible or not cost-effective, the caliper must be replaced as a complete unit.

BRAKE CALIPERS

Masuma offers over 80 caliper variants, including fixed and floating (sliding) designs, with 1-, 2-, and 4-piston configurations. High-quality, proven materials are used throughout, ensuring reliable performance in demanding braking conditions.

Housing

Depending on the vehicle application, Masuma caliper housings are made from two types of metal:

  • QT450-10 — high-strength ductile iron with nodular graphite, widely used in the automotive industry for critical cast components. The spherical graphite structure enhances strength and ductility compared to conventional gray cast iron, providing excellent impact resistance and vibration durability.
  • ZL101A — an aluminum-silicon alloy with magnesium. This casting alloy enables the production of complex, high-precision shapes. It offers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio and strong corrosion resistance, making it ideal for applications where reducing unsprung mass is important.

Pistons and Guide Pins

Steel pistons (Grade 20 steel) and guide pins (Grade 45 steel) provide long service life, corrosion resistance, and stable performance across a wide temperature range.

Dust Boots

EPDM rubber dust boots are resistant to aging, ozone, and aggressive environmental factors, effectively protecting internal caliper components from water and contaminants.

QUALITY CONTROL

The high quality of Masuma brake calipers is ensured not only by material selection but also by strict quality control procedures, including:

  1. Incoming inspection of raw materials and castings
  2. High-precision dimensional checks using coordinate measuring machines (CMM), micrometers, and calipers
  3. Hydraulic pressure testing to verify sealing integrity and detect leaks
  4. Functional testing with repeated braking cycles at elevated temperatures and in salt spray conditions
  5. Assembly and dynamic testing to ensure proper installation of pistons, seals, and guide components, as well as smooth operation

Masuma brake calipers deliver braking performance fully aligned with OEM specifications. Check availability for your vehicle using the Parts finder.
