2 years ago we discussed the "precious" spark plugs with platinum and iridium, as well as their distinctions from cheap nickel spark plugs. People who still use conventional plugs replacing them every 50k km, who don't want to "overpay", are strongly advised to read the article. It will make clear, why your ignition coils burn out.
Since then the Masuma series has been extended. The following existing plugs:
● Iridium
● Platinum
● Iridium+Platinum
were complemented with Double Platinum and Double Iridium. Let's discuss their key features.
Let us recall the advantages of platinum and iridium plugs:
- Stable spark-plug gap and extended lifetime of those spark plugs due to low erosive wearing of the central electrode.
- Better combustion of the fuel-air mixture due to a thin electrode and a more powerful spark.
- Reducing the load on the ignition coils and their breakdown risk.
What's special about Double?
The Double series spark plugs don't have precious metal only on the center electrode, but on the side electrode as well, and this prevents it from burnout and extends the spark plug lifetime. This series is kind of Super Long Life spark plugs.
Masuma DOUBLE PLATINUM are spark plugs with a platinum tip of the central electrode and a platinum solder on the side electrode. Reliable operation up to 100 000 km, keeping the spark-plug gap stable.
Masuma DOUBLE IRIDIUM are spark plugs with the technology of a needle grounding counter electrode made of iridium. Two ultra-thin iridium electrode tips increase the density of the electric discharge, improving the combustion efficiency of the cylinder mixture as possible and giving the engine the full power. The lifetime of Masuma DOUBLE IRIDIUM spark plugs is 120,000 km.
